Hypnosis to find your purpose can go a few ways. We speak about the need to stop for a moment and smell the roses. Or to come present. Even to hear the stillness.

This morning as I was getting ready, I was listening to the radio when a story came on that felt like a smack and made me halt.

The tale dealt with the ways in which beauty or mystery can occasionally captivate us. By the flight of the butterfly or the sting of the bee.  Something leaps out, the light flashes, the sound screeches, STOP.

Along with my day job in hypnosis, I volunteer as a caseworker for the American Red Cross. Trying to help out a bit just like thousands of others everywhere.  I am very familiar with catastrophe and sadness. Possibly maybe I need a good smack to take note of my blessings.

Think about the difference between thankfulness and gratitude. Possibly, the sensation of gratitude is incident-, gift-, or object-focused. While gratitude may be more of a state of being.

A man in his thirties visited me the other day. He had a litany of things he wished to accomplish in his life. The fact that one of the first things this young man mentioned was important to remember struck me. Typically, an old man would think that.

Hypnosis is all about mind control, if you think about it, to come present, find strength, peace, and gratitude; it’s the season.

This is why I always say “Change your thinking, change your life.”
